Sister Miriam of the Cross, OP, was born Bonnie Lynn Scheel on December 19, 1940, in Rochester, New York, the beloved daughter of Frank and Ada (Bechel) Scheel. On February 12, 2026, after a long life poured out in prayer and service, she entered eternal life at the Teresian House in Albany, New York, held in the love of her sisters and the hope of Christ she cherished so deeply.
