Discover the Joy of becoming a Dominican Nun of the Monastery of Mary the Queen.

Give your life to Christ.

We are a community of Dominican contemplative nuns, women who have given our lives entirely to prayer, study, and the search for Truth. Our vocation is hidden, yet profoundly fruitful: we stand before God on behalf of the Church and the world, offering our lives as a living prayer.

What Is the Dominican Contemplative Vocation?

The Dominican Order was born from a desire to preach the Gospel with clarity and compassion. As contemplative nuns, we live this mission from within the heart of the Church.

Our life is shaped by:

  • Prayer — the Liturgy of the Hours, Eucharistic adoration, silent contemplation
  • Study — Opening our minds to the beauty of truth
  • Community — living as sisters who seek God toget
  • Preaching — offering our lives for the salvation of souls

This is a life of depth, joy, and profound purpose. It is not a retreat from the world but a way of loving it more fiercely through prayer.

Who Is God Calling?

A vocation is not about perfection. It is about desire—the desire to give everything to God.

You may be called if you feel:

  • Drawn to silence and prayer
  • A longing to belong wholly to Christ
  • A desire to live in community
  • A heart that aches for the world and wants to intercede for it
  • A curiosity about religious life that won’t go away

God often speaks through these small movements of the heart.

What is life like in Our Monastery?

Our days follow a steady rhythm of prayer, work, and study. We rise early to praise God, gather throughout the day for the Divine Office, and spend long hours in quiet contemplation. We work with our hands, study the Scriptures and the writings of the saints, and share our lives as sisters.

It is a simple life, but never a small one.
It is spacious, full of grace, and anchored in God.

Steps in Discernment

Every woman’s journey is unique, but it often includes:

  • Initial Inquiry — reaching out, asking questions, beginning a conversation
  • Visits — spending time in the monastery to experience our life firsthand
  • Discernment — prayerfully listening to God’s voice
  • Entrance — postulancy, novitiate, and temporary vows
  • Solemn Profession — giving your life to God forever

We walk with you at every step, gently and patiently.
